Refrigerator not cooling during summer heat
Why it happens here
When outside temperatures push past 95 degrees in July and August, a refrigerator compressor runs almost nonstop. A capacitor that would survive a mild month fails under that load, and a dirty condenser coil makes it worse. This is our busiest summer call in Maryland Farms.
Our approach
We clean the condenser coil, test the capacitor and compressor under load, and check the door gasket for cold-air leaks. If the sealed system needs work, we handle refrigerant under EPA Section 608 rules and confirm the unit holds temperature overnight.
